Avon Middle School conducts several activities during the year to promote quality social interaction, and to support school spirit and a positive campus climate. Some of those activities include the Koehler “Kook-Out,” Eagle Talent Showcase, Hoop2Hoop, Clash of the Titans, Souper Bowl of Caring, Shenanigans, the AMS Olympics, and the annual AMS Turkey Bowl.
Scheduled on Friday, November 8, 2013 (for about 80 minutes), the AMS Turkey Bowl is held in Eagle Stadium and creates an arena of friendly, supervised competition in the form of flag football:
Powder Puff game between 7th and 8th Grade Girls
Turkey Bowl game between 7th and 8th Grade Boys
The school will be on the P.M. Activity Bell Schedule, and students may choose one of the following:
Participate in the activity via the submitted Parental Consent Form as planned and coordinated by event director, Mr. Garvelink. Staff members directly involved in the games will be either supervising the field activity or coaching the teams.
Watch the activities from the stadium bleachers with their classmates and supervising staff.
Attend a supervised study hall in room #111 (sign-up sheet on the Office counter).
