The AMS Morning News items are announced at school and then are posted on our website for several school days. The news items reflect events, activities, general information, and news items about Avon Middle School and Avon Local Schools. Results of and information about interscholastic athletics are communicated to the AMS Main Office by the respective sports team coach(es). Sporting events results are then announcedat school and posted via The AMS Morning News.

Our Disabilities Awareness Spirit Week continues next week with the following dress themes:
  • Monday is “Pennies for Pajamas” - bring in your pennies and wear pajamas
  • Tuesday is “Neon Nickels” - bring in nickels and wear NEON clothing
  • Wednesday is “Dazzling Dimes”, bring in dimes and wear fancy, dazzling clothing
  • Thursday is “Quirky Quarters” -bring in quarters and wear crazy, quirky, mixed-up clothing including socks, hats, etc. 
  • Friday’s theme is “Game Time” - Bring in a dollar and dress in your favorite sport or college gear. 
Then on Tuesday, April 2, we will “Light it up Blue” in celebration of Autism Awareness Day.. All proceeds will go to support Milestones Autism Resources.
Attention Tech Club Members:  There is no Tech Club on Monday, the next meeting will be after school on April 1st.
Sign ups continue for Adventure at the Camp for 6th grade students. This is our 6th Grade field trip scheduled during May 28-30, and includes an overnight, outdoor education experience for our qualifying students.
Don’t forget! AHS Drama Club presents: FREAKY FRIDAY: A NEW MUSICAL: Performances are tonite and Saturday, March 23 at 7pm, and Sunday, March 24 at 2pm. Our Disabilities Awareness Spirit Week kicked off today with our crazy socks and World Down Syndrome Day. Tomorrow is “Sunglasses Day”. It is also an Ally Day.  Wear your ally gear or the color orange to show your support of positive behavior toward others.

Don’t forget to bring lunch money or a brown bag lunch tomorrow.  Also, there is no ticket required for the show.
Avon Local Schools will be embracing Disabilities & Autism Awareness Month with a spirit week from March 21 - April 2.  This year the district will be embracing more than just Autism, starting tomorrow with World Down Syndrome Day.  Please show your support by wearing crazy socks tomorrow. We will update you with the activities for the rest of the week in tomorrow’s announcements.

Seventh and Eighth Graders can sign-up to take the ACT - "the real thing without the sting." Students are encouraged to take this practice test to gain experience on what the ACT is like. Seats are limited, so make sure to sign up online soon.  The scheduled date is Saturday, April 13th.
