AP Exam Registration

AP Exam Registration is now open from January 7th-16th, 2019. Please register for your AP Exam(s) at https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/6020. All students who register for an AP Exam must attend a mandatory Pre-Administration meeting that will occur at 7:45am in the Auditorium during the May 1, 2019 late start.

Junior Parent Information Night

The counselors will be hosting a Junior Parent Night on Wednesday, January 16th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the auditorium. The counselors will be providing information on how to prepare your junior for senior year. They will be discussing college searches, ACT/SAT, Common App & Naviance, and career planning. Sophomore JVS Field Trip 

Sophomores who turned in their field trip permission slips will be participating in a JVS Tour on Thursday, January 24th. They will depart AHS at 8:30am by bus and will return to campus to eat lunch during 4C. Lunch lines will be opened.

JVS Open House

JVS will be hosting their open house on Sunday, January 27th, from 12:30pm-3:30pm. Discover their 9th and 10th grade program options, take a tour of the campus and visit the career technical labs in addition to the 11th and 12th grade career tech courses. Vape Preventon Program

Avon High School Counselors will host The LCADA Way vape presentation on January 31, 2019, in the auditorium at 7:00pm. Reservations are not required. We encourage all parents to attend. ACT Prep Class

College Recruiting Specialists will be hosting test prep classes prior to the free ACT test that all Juniors will be taking at Avon High School on February 21st. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:15pm-4:30pm in Room 226 on 1/29, 2/5, 2/12 and 2/19.Cost for the test prep is $125. Seating is limited so sign up quickly. Posted PSAT Results

Juniors who took the PSAT on October 10th can view their scores online beginning on Wednesday, December 12th. Students were notified via Google classroom that they will need to log in to or create a College Board account online to see their scores. This video walks students through the log-in process. Students can link their PSAT scores to Khan Academy which will unlock free, personalized practice based on their PSAT results. This video helps students link their account.

Spring Parent Teacher Conferences

Mark your calendars! Spring Parent Teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 and Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Online booking will be available late January.

Naviance Nights During Conferences

The High School Counselors are hosting "Naviance Nights" during conferences. Naviance is an online college search and application tool that all Avon High School students use.  Students in grades 9-11 use Naviance to complete career assessments and to research careers and colleges.  Seniors use Naviance as an online college search and application tool.   Naviance also manages transcripts and letters of recommendations. No appointment is necessary. Just stop by before, after or in between your teacher conferences in Room 107 on February 5th from 5:00pm-6:00pm and receive a brief tutorial on Naviance and get general Naviance questions answered.  

AP Information Fair

New, February 13, 2019 during parent teacher conferences, from 5:15pm to 6:45pm, an AP Information Fair will be hosted in the high school gym. Meet AHS AP teachers, pick up sample syllabi and get your AP questions answerered. Bring your student.

CCP Information Night

The State of Ohio requires that potential CCP participants and their parents attend an informational meeting prior to applying for the CCP program. Current CCP students and parents are not required to attend additional meetings; only first time CCP students and their parents are required to attend a meeting.

On March 13, 2019, LCCC will administer the ACCUPLACER test to students who are interested in participating in CCP for the 2019-2020 school year. Testing will take place at AHS, after school, on March 13, 2019. Interested students should turn in a CCP application ASAP. Required advanced registration for the march 13th test will open in mid-February, opnline. As a reminder, CCP applicants can also take the ACCUPLACER at LCCC at any time. To receive notifications regarding CCP, including the opening of the online test registration, please join the CCP Remind group by texting @he8dbb to 81010.

Individual College Meetings in Student Services

Admissions Reps often schedule meetings at the high school to meet with students interested in learning more about that particular college, the admissions process and what the school has to offer. These meetings are held in a conference room in student services. Please sign up in advance. Sign up sheets are located on the counter in student services. You will be responsible for any missed classwork.
