Art was appointed to the Board of Education on Oct. 6, 2008, at a special meeting of the board to fill the unoccupied board seat created by the resignation of a board member. He and his wife, Pam have two daughters; one is attending Heritage North Elementary School and the other is at the High School. He has served on multiple committees for the district, including levy committees, and been involved with the Avon PTA and Heritage Boosters. In addition, he and his wife are native Clevelanders who moved to Avon ten years ago.

He is a business professional that is responsible for estimating / sales / project coordination, for a large lifting equipment manufacturer in Cleveland.
