  • Thank you to everyone who participated in the 16th annual Eagle Run, presented by Mercy Health. It was another successful event and we are grateful to the many volunteers and supporters. Avon proud! See you next year! (May 27, 2017).
  • Congratulations to the Avon High School Class of 2016. On May 31, 289 seniors graduated at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University. Valedictorian is Navi Baskar. Co- Salutatorians are Peter Stamatis and Ben Waters. Best of luck for the future. Eagle Proud!
  • Avon Early Learning Center staff and students, along with the Avon PTA, hosted a retirement celebration for Mrs. Little, principal. Thank you Mrs. Little for all you've done for Avon students. Best of luck!
  • During Autism Awareness Month in April the Avon Local Schools promoted a variety of activities and shared information about autism, while having some fun and raising, not only awareness, but funds to support Milestones Autism Resources (Cleveland).
  • Students from Avon East & Avon Middle wrote a grand total of 679 letters for our troops! Capt. Barry Delaney Masin paid a visit to the school and picked up the letters from the students. Barry said he "still has all of his letters from all of his deployments"
  • AHS hosted a special memorial tribute in honor of three of its own. Marine Corporal David F. Schneider (killed in Vietnam in 1968); Army Sergeant Patrick E. Smith Jr. (killed in Vietnam in 1968), and Air Force Captain John Barelka (killed in an F16 training accident in Arizona in 1993).
  • Congratulations to all our Avon Soaring Little Eagles Preschool graduates! Best of luck in kindergarten and beyond.
  • Heritage students were given the “Champion for a Cause” award for notable achievement, accomplishment and action in raising $49,365.39 in 12 consecutive campaigns for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
