  • Avon Schools 2nd Annual District Art Show. The public event is from April 19 - 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Avon Isle. The event is made possible through the generous support of the Avon Schools Educational Endowment Fund and Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen.

  • TV 19 Meteorologist Jon Loufman visited seventh-grade science classes at Avon Middle School. He explained weather patterns, hurricanes, wind speed and other aspects of weather technology.
  • Avon East Elementary School kicked off its Crushers Summer Reading Program with an assembly for first and second-graders featuring Stomper, the Crushers mascot. For additional pictures from The Villager Newspaper, click the images.
  • Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen recently spent the afternoon with second-graders from Jessie Schneeberger's class at Avon East Elementary. He discussed the various departments within the city and the services each provides to the community. Thank you Mayor Jensen and all the city workers for everything you do in Avon!
  • Thank you to the more than 850 visitors and 40 exhibitors at the annual Heritage Science Night. Teachers Amy Rottman and Stephanie Reichert co-chair the event which is made possible through grants from the Avon Schools Educational Endowment Fund and sponsorship from the Avon Heritage Boosters.   • National poet and Cleveland-area native, Brian P. Cleary, recently visited Heritage Elementary to work with third-graders in a poetry writing workshop.   • The Symphonic Band received a II rating overall (Excellent) and received a I (Superior-highest) in Sight-Reading (playing a piece of music on the spot for the first time). The Wind Ensemble received all Superior ratings in Class A, qualifying for State-Level competition.
