Announcements
The AMS Back to School Cookout is coming! It will take place on Tuesday, September 22nd. The meal includes your choice of a cheeseburger or hotdog, fruit or juice, bag of chips, cookie and milk. Ice Cream is being provided by the boosters at no charge. The cost is $3.25. All lunch money must be deposited in your lunch account before the cookout. All Student accounts must be up to date. If you have a special diet request, please reach out to the food service director, Nancy Mazzeo at [email protected] by Friday, September 18th. Please include your child's name and grade.
Reminder: The first Makerspace project is starting on Monday, September 14th! You are invited to come and make a locker magnet during Flex. There is space for 20 students per Flex period per day - this project will run through Friday, September 18th, so hopefully everyone who wants to - can come and make a magnet! Listen for announcements each month on what is happening in the Media Center and come join the STEAM fun!
Reminder: The Avon Marching band and Colorguard is hosting the Middle School guard night along with the 8th grade band night on Friday, September 25th. The Colorguard is open to all middle school students! You will perform 2 routines. One flag, and one pom, both set to fun upbeat music. There will be 4 practices to learn everything on September 14th, 17th, 21st and 23rd from 3:30-5pm. Handouts are available in the main office with more details! See Mrs. White in Rm. 231 with any questions.

This is your chance to help make our school even better, plan some AWESOME events, share your ideas, and make your voice heard! Haven’t signed up yet? Grab a Student Council sheet from the office or Mrs. Madej and get signed up! Already signed up? Make sure you join the Google Classroom and complete the form before the meeting. Bring your ideas. Bring your energy. Bring your school spirit. Let’s make this the BEST Student Council year yet! See you next Wednesday morning!

Attention Academic Challenge Members: Academic Challenge practice is canceled for today after school.

Have you heard we have a club where you can hang out and play chess with friends? If you’d like to join, grab a form from the office. The next gathering for Chess Club will be Thursday, October 1st. We will meet on the first Thursday of every month.

Attention all students: It is officially official, the AMS PBIS store is open for business! Each week, you can place orders in our online system PBIS Rewards, which is accessible via Clever, on Mondays and Tuesdays. Items will be available to pick up in lunches on Fridays. This week is a shortened week, so if you were hoping to redeem rewards this week, please do so by 3 PM today!
Harmonics has been cancelled today and will resume next week.
