AHS Announcements

This week, Making OurStory will be selling  handmade bracelets, keychains, and other items during all lunch periods.  All money raised will go towards Sabrina Noelle Foundation sponsored academic scholarships and events. The Sabrina Noelle Foundation promotes activities and strategies for stronger mental health for teens and young adults. All items are $2 - $5 so stop by the club’s table!

Making OurStory is promoting the Sandy Hook Promise. During any lunch period, write a statement about violence prevention on a green-colored hand cutout. With these hands, Making OurStory members will create a large tree that will be displayed outside of the main office! Also, each senior should come and write a message of gratitude to another senior on a yellow or purple hand. These hand cutouts will also be available in the Media Center. Thank you!

First semester art students - if your artwork was selected for the spring art show, but you took the work home,  please bring your artwork to your art teacher by Friday, April 26th.

Attention all writers! The Avon Literary Club is sponsoring a writing contest! Submit your short play or short story for a chance to win an Amazon Gift Card. This year's prompt is "enigma." We love weird and wacky, along with sweet and sentimental stories. This contest is open to everyone in the community, so share with friends and family. Email your story of 750 words or less to [email protected].

Do you like to sing? Auditions for the AHS Acapella groups will be held Monday, April 29th and Friday, May 3rd. Unaccompanied and Chromatics travel for awesome gigs, compete at national competitions, and make some great music! Interested? Scan the QR Code on from the flyers hanging around school for more information on auditions or see Mr. Moyseenko in the choir room with questions!
